I hope you all have a wonderful and joy-filled Christmas! I am visiting my family in San Jose, which was quite the drive in my Mini Cooper with two dogs. We did about 15 hours in the rain but it is definitely worth it to have them with me during the holidays instead of kenneled. The weather here is the same as in Phoenix, but it feels colder on the bay, so I am happy wearing heavier coats and boots. These over-the-knee boots take up minimal space in my weekender bag, and the fact that they are flat (not-heels) makes it even better. I like to be really comfortable when I travel!
I don’t care how
warm it’s staying around here, I am dressing for winter. I have more coats than is sane for anyone in Phoenix to own considering our “winter” lasts two months tops. By mid-February I can usually start wearing short sleeves again. I am definitely getting my coat fix in while I can with this trench coat and turtleneck, not to mention these boots which I have been wearing on repeat since the temperature dropped below 80. This trench is just the right weight for Phoenix, not too warm, but I could layer up a little more and wear it when I go up north to visit the family for Christmas.
Phoenix’s version of winter is what most other states consider a solid spring, which lets most of us get away with the lightest of coats through December. Can you believe it is still hitting into the 70s this week?! I’ve been fortunate to be able to keep wearing some of the coats I got for fall and I am in love with the “off-duty” look that Gigi Hadid and co. are constantly seen in. Considering how most of my days are spent wearing all black, it was super easy for me to add a bomber jacket and some black ankle boots to my high-waist skinnies and black bodysuit. If the burgundy isn’t your thing, this look looks great with a black or green version.
